A fairy new genre of music is a fine addition to the new age category. Healing music offers listeners a way to deepen their healing practices.
This category of music is perfect to listen to for yoga, meditation, massage, and many of the healing art sessions where clients relax into a healing journey. Healing music is also enjoyed for pure pleasure as relaxation and background music.
To start your collection, here are some of my favorite older and well established Healing Music artists.
Assortment of Healing Music
The titles listed below are some of the older choices I really like and would be a delightful foundation for your ever-growing Healing Music collection.
Warrior of the Heart by Karen Therese
Singer/Songwriter Karen Therese’s “Warrior of the Heart” is a self-styled collection of “Indian Soul.” Combining Native American music with blues, gospel and soul, Therese has created a deeply spiritual album that is not to be missed by music lovers or those wishing to reach their inner- self through musical reflection.
Therese’s strong melodic voice and powerful lyrics are near perfection and are served well in an unmatchable collaborative force with world-renowned musicians, including bassist John Gagan, percussionist Marc Clark and guitarists Jamie Chez and Daniel Ward.
Karma by Mars Lasar
As Mars Lasar says, “(Karma is) the balance of all things — negative and positive — the universe’s way of keeping the checks and balances in order. Most people think of it as negative, but karma is also a positive reward for things well done.” If this is indeed so, then Lasar will be richly rewarded for this latest album “Karma.”
Combining the chants of Tibetian monks, Chinese violin, African chorus and Middle Eastern oud with a collection of sounds from nature, Lasar has given birth to a healing masterpiece. The resulting soundscapes are as lush and beautiful as a rainforest — and just as rare.
Ancient Canyons by John Huling
If you have never visited the Grand Canyon, then John Huling’s album “Ancient Canyons” will allow you to be swept away to the majesty of this natural wonder. Resplendent with the sounds of howling coyotes and strong winds , mixed with native flutes and drums, this collection is a testament to the beauty and strength of the natural world and human creativity. John Huling’s style is, in a word, awe-inspiring!
Canyon’s Collection
Last we checked John Huling listed 18 albums from which to choose. So rich is this collection, that one can almost feel all the elements of the canyon from the parched heat of the canyon to the wings of the birds gliding overhead.
Check it out! You may find multiple choices to add to your Healing Music collection.
