To take care, does not mean to do it for someone.
If we are trying to take care of people, we are not allowing them to move through or release whatever feeling, situation, that is theirs to go beyond.
To take care, does not mean to take away someone’s pain or experience of the world.
What Does it Mean to Care?
To care is to be with another while they feel whatever they need to feel so they may move through the pain, the block, the conflict.
To care does not mean to fix whatever another is going through or how another feels.
To care is to be present with loving encouragement.
To care does not mean to live someone else’s life, for all that happens is we are not present to live our own lives.
If we are trying to take care of someone, we are seeing them as weak. To care is to invite out another’s strength rather than focus on their weakness.
To care is to see someone’s true power, even if they don’t see or recognize it.
To care is not to be the source for anyone, but rather to gently point out the existence of their real Source. To care is not to come up with solutions that will solve the other’s problem, but to invite in a solution together.
It is not about coming up with the care for those in our lives; it is about inviting in the Gift of Care to carry us.
Rather than trying to take care of someone, we invite you to receive God’s Care so you may the real Care that can come through for everyone involved in your life.
Truly, what is the greatest caring we can show, but to be present to listen, to encourage, to be honest, and to invite in the real Source of all Care.
Receive Care.
